Azahar Ensemble proposes a program that is focused in two of the major composers of the classicism: Mozart and Beethoven. To the two original works for organ by the Salzburg composer (arranged by Ulf-Guido Schäfer for wind quintet) is added one of the great pieces of the pianistic repertoire: the Sonata for piano op.13 „Pathetique“ by L. van Beethoven (arranged by our flutist, Frederic Sánchez). In this occasion, the piece will be played from a chamber music approach. The quintet by George Onslow, nicknamed at his lifetime "the French Beethoven" because of his strong influence by the Bonn composer, will accompany these works. The program is completed with two contrasting works of the twentieth century such as the quintet by György Kurtág, a Hungarian composer strongly influenced by the great classical masters, and the work "Azahar", a consonant piece inspired by a poem by Miguel Hernández and written by the flute player of the quintet , Frederic Sánchez.
