Azahar Ensemble wish you MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR 2017
From Azahar Ensemble we want to wish you all Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
2016 ends in a few days, and it has been a year full of adventures!
Thanks to the invitation of the Ensemble Pentaèdre we travelled to Canada, where we could offer a recital, and a masterclass to the students of the Conservatoire de Montréal and to play together with the Pentaèdre a double wind quintet. Thanks!!
During this year we have played again in Germany but without any doubt the most special concert was the one we had the pleasure to play in the Berliner Philharmonie. We could never have imagined a better place to have our Debut in that city. Thanks to the Deutschlandradio Kultur for this great chance!
In July we played in Cham (Switzerland) in the wonderful summer festival that the Hoppe family organizes, in August we were in Catalonia (where we premiered the piece that the composer Joan Magrané wrote for us 'Un Tapís; l'unicorn'. In Fall we came back to Germany where we were recorded by the SWR Radio and the Deutschlandfunk.
Also in this year 2016 we premiered the arrangement of the 'Oración del Torero' by Joaquín Turina, arranged for us by his grandson, the composer José Luís Turina. This arrangement has been very well received by the european audiences! Soon we will share exciting news about this topic ??
We finish this year with the feeling of having developed as an ensemble and with our instruments full of fantastic memories! Also, we have great projects for the coming 2017 that we will be sharing with you when the time comes!!
