Program focused in works written by two contemporaries of Beethoven. Reicha met Beethoven in the Orchestra of Bonn and composed the wind quintets for the soloists of the Opera of Paris. Those quintets demand great virtuosism to the players (since the quintets were dedicated to very talented musicians of the time) and represent the consolidation of the wind quintet as an stable chamber music ensemble; this is why Reicha is known -as well- as the "father" of the wind quintet. Onslow (known as "the French Beethoven" by his contemporaries) composed his quintet in F inspired by this tradition that Reicha brought to Paris, but showing an stylistic evolution towards romanticism.
